I wont have a rental car and staying in the South End of Strip. I heard the downtown is shady after dark. How can I get to the Fremont St quickly and get back. I can probably take a cab or bus while going. Can you please give me some options from Fremont street back to strip?
Thanks.

The best bet is to take a taxi to the Golden Nugget. A taxi ride will be much quicker that the CAT ride. The downtown area around the Golden Nugget is safe and you get a spectacular view of the Fremont Experience. Expect the taxi ride to cost around $10.
The Fremont Experience is pretty much the only thing worth going downtown for - and it is worth seeing at least once. I've stayed at the Golden Nugget and it's nice, but the rest of downtown is very low rent and seedy. Some people love that, but I'll take the over-priced comfortable strip any day.

Las Vegas is probably the most exciting and interesting city on earth and with hotelbye you will see out more. Nowhere else on the planet you will see a city that's all the vacation amenities that only a complete resort destination can offer: lavish casino resorts, great food, great stay leisure and state-of-the art convention and trade show facilities. Las Vegas is definitely a magnificent town and anything that you'd assume from the world-class town, and more, is below for your travel pleasure. Among the areas you must visit in Las Vegas may be the Fremont Street, a pedestrian area with a myriad of distinctive sites.

Across the street from NYNY is the Tropicana. I do not know the age of you or your family members but the Trop has a comedy club called "The Comedy Stop at the Trop" They have 2 shows per night which usually sell out. So call the Hotel to buy tickets earlier in the day with a credit card. The show costs $17 each and you get to see 3 comics and receive one free drink coupon with admission. I have been to Vegas many times and this is the only thing I make sure I do each visit. Also if you are of drinking age, NYNY has a Cuyote Ugly bar which is pretty fun.

Take the CAT Route 301 to Fremont Street Experience. It'll drop off and pick up next to Neonopolis (on the pedestrian mall).
Cab will cost you at least $10 each way plus tip, depending on where you're picking one up.
I don't know that a cab will get you there any quicker as the Strip (and nearby streets) has traffic, lots of it and both cab and bus will be subject to the same constraints.

Cab is the best but if you're staying in the hotel and have been gambling ask a host or concierge if they'll arrange a complementary ride.
