Mandalay Bay or Monte Carlo?

Okay, so I'm contemplating on the two right now to go with my girlfriend. I'm not some baller or anything so I won't be getting any sort of suite. I'm 25 and this will be the first time going with my girlfriend. We'll be staying there for a total of 2 nights.

Here's the thing... I know we'll do a lot of walking when we go to Vegas exploring a lot. We'll probably stay inside the hotel for sleeping, getting changed, annnd a little something something...

Monte Carlo
PROS:
-Hotel is closer to the center of the strip
-Cheaper rooms

CONS:
-Average looking room
-Lower rating on the internet

Mandalay Bay
PROS:
-Great looking rooms
-Great looking pool
-Good bathroom(bathrooms are important to me... haha)

CONS:
-Costly
-Further away from the center of the strip

Basically while we're there, we're going clubbing and doing all those fun little stuff and I feel that when the sun starts rising, I want to be closer to my hotel where I can walk less and knock out.

What would you guys do if you're in my situation?

You've got most stuff figured out so this is my advice due to personal experience:

I often book Monte Carlo because of the great location, one of the best locations on the Strip, so close to Bellagio, which is romantic and offers great romantic spots.

However, if you want an erotic place to stay in, Mandalay Bay is much better. If you are concerned about walking, don't be because Mandalay Bay has a free shuttle which will take you to Excalibur (just outside, facing NYNY), and from there it's not too bad to walk to mid Strip, you'll be close to Monte Carlo and therefore close to all the action.

Because of the romantic/sensual aspect, I would go with Mandalay Bay.

Why do you have to choose between these two places? There are many hotels on the strip that you should consider. If you want to stay mid-strip for location, look into Caesars Palace, Ballys, Bellagio,

Paris, Flamingo, or Monte Carlo. If you plan to hang at the pool a lot, then I would consider Mandalay Bay, Hard Rock Hotel, Flamingo, Tropicana, Mirage, Caesars Palace. There is not much going on at the Monte Carlo. It is not a "themed" hotel and there is no reason for anyone to go there except guests staying there. Mandalay Bay is gorgeous but very expensive and most likely not worth the price, plus it is at the far end of the strip which I don't think you will like.

If it were me, I would stay at the Mirage. Overall, its a beautiful place, nice pool, near all the action (slightly North of mid-strip). Or if you insist on staying mid-strip and don't mind spending a little more, then go with Caesars Palace. A classy place that has invested lots of money keeping it current and trendy. Flamingo has a super pool but it is an old hotel and it shows. Bally's is a super location but the pool is not nice. You can't go wrong with Paris, although the pool is not at ground level. Bellagio is overall a fab place but I don't know about the pool.

The location difference between Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay is absolutely nothing: a block. It really makes no difference really, unless you are disabled and cannot walk to the free monorail. The truth is, TI is closer to the centre of the strip, as affordable as Monte Carlo (or at least at a similar price point), and has tremendous rooms/suites/bathrooms. Four diamonds just like Mandalay Bay.

I would pick Mandalay because of the awesome pool. Other reasons include: places to eat like StripSteak, catch a show at House of Blues, Shark Reef, shopping, etc.

I hear ya about the location, but Monte Carlo is very bland. If they are close in price, go with the 5-star Mandalay Bay. They are like 4 hotels from each other :) Luxor is right next door and has good shows and clubs too like LAX.

Good luck!

i comprehend Vegas like the back of my hand. pass with Mandalay Bay. The pool at Monte Carlo sucks and is grimy and the rooms kinda scent extraordinary. Mandalay Bay is relatively helpful each of how around. You get what you pay for and if luck is on your area you will possibly have the potential to attain a unfastened updgrade :D
