Will be staying at Red Rock in Vegas end of May.... Hubby will be busy during the days in meetings.... Any suggestions on what to do other than gambling the whole time during day? Not sure if I want to make my way to the strip each day, as I will be by myself.... Thanks in advance.... :O)

I live within walking distance of that casino...great choice!

Inside the casino you can watch a movie, enjoy their beautiful pool, have a drink at rock's lounge, or eat at one of their many restuarants.

Across the street you can eat at my personal fave....BJ's. There is also a burger place called Islands and a mexican restaurant named Agave.

You would be very close to Red Rock Canyon.

If you want you can take a cab or a shuttle to the strip. You're about 15 minutes away.

I'm with Neo! Great Choice on Hotel - If you golf, you're pretty close to some great golf courses, Bear's Best, Badlands, Siena and Red Rock Country Club are over on that end. There's tons of great shopping in the Summerlin area which is near the hotel, Boca Park is a great visit and that will take almost an entire day.

Red Rock Canyon is great, there are lots of tours out there. Check into a horseback riding tour, those can be fun. I just enjoy my morning hikes out there when I can.

Although heading to the strip alone, might sound intimidating, give it a shot - and go shopping. That's what I would do!

I live in the area & can tell you that daytime is a good time to walk the boulevard, check out the sights & plan which street shows to see at night, like the Volcano or the Pirate Ships. Shopping is also a fun day thing. The Mall in The Aladdin is fabulous. I go there often. If you are driving, the parking garage is wierd, its like a maze & I have gotten lost a few times. Also, check out Ceasars Palace Mall. The ceiling is like being outdoors. And no one should come to Vegas without seeing Siegfred & Roy's White Tigers at the Mirage. The Luxor is cool too & has a tram that will take you to another hotel, I think to Excaliber. When I was showing my friend around the strip (during the day) people were giving us free tickets to comedy shows and such. We also got to preview the tv show "Numbers" before it came out & gave our opinions.
