The Excalibur pool is due to be reopened already. Not sure if this has happened, however, I do know that the Luxor pool next door is available to be used by Excalibur guests when they show the room key. You should always request the type room you prefer. I always request a view room near an elevator. The more time you spend in your room the more energized and pleased you will be with your overall Vegas experience. There are lots of shows up and down the strip for you to choose from. I will attach a site for your show information. Since this is your 3rd trip on the strip I suggest that you go ahead and purchase Monorail tickets and you and your girlfriend spend time together planning your trip down to a science. THe Monorail allows you to access the entire strip from the MGM Hub near your hotel for about $10 a day unlimited access. I also suggest you go to Bon Ami Gabi Restaurant 30 minutes or 45 minutes before the Bellagio Fountain Show starts. You can put your name on a First come first serve waiting list for pavilion tables outside by the strip (Which should be excellent evening weather in October). I will also try to post a monorail stop list for you. There are millions of things to do other than club hop. I do suggest you take your sweetie to ride the Gondolas at Venetian and take in Madamn Tussuad's Wax Museum while there. You can't go wrong with a Neon Light tour of the strip by helicoptor, and if she is "Rustic Enough" even try to desert horseback ride, but that may not be for the faint at heart. Also, make sure you ride the deuce to Freemont Street for the Old Vegas feel.

I believe October is a great month to go! the weather will calm down & it will be much cooler. We just came back from Vegas & it was between 95 degrees & 102 degrees outside during the day, luckily it was cloudy + windy most of the time we were there, so the sun didn't hurt us. Yes the pool will still be open, Las Vegas never closes. LOL! Yes you should call in & request a room on the top floor so you can enjoy a view of the strip.

We stayed at MGM Grand & I won a jackpot of $1,600 on a $1 slot machine after only putting in $20. I don't know if Excalibur gives free drinks any more. I doubt it. You can check with your concierge & ask to see if they give any kind of food or drink credits? We got $25 of that at MGM Grand. As far as going around the strip finding things to do, you will have lots of luck on that because there is just way too much to do in Vegas. Go to the Forum Shops at Ceasar's Palace, check out the Lion Habitat at MGM Grand, ride the roller coasters at New York New York, go watch a couple of shows, Cirque Du Soleil Beatles Love at the Mirage is good, KA' at MGM Grand is awesome, go watch some comedy shows, I hear Kevin James will be at the Mirage! those are just a few to mention.

Bring plenty of money for gambling, tipping, shopping, food, drinks.....remember that Vegas does not come cheap.

1. Of course. Oct is a great month for weather and the pool will be open.

2. You can try. Normally they will tell you its on request. If you want to pay extra for a strip view you can do that. But if you book the cheapest rates they wont guarentee any type of room.

3. I personally dont like the casino. It was dark, smokey, and kind of run down. Alot of wierdos around also because they have some low stakes. I dont mean this offensivley to people who play low-stakes, infact I do, its just a proven fact that low-stakes will draw a certain element. Drinks were good, and shows i did not par-take in.

4. Not as much-- but you can easily walk to the heart of the strip. Check out Luxor and Mandaly bay though. They are a nicer then excal with more and better dining options.

5. Be careful with excalbur. It's quite a bit worse then most strip hotels. Alot kids, and not the best party enviorment. I

1. Yes the pool will still be open. It will be nice outside in October, but will still be warm enough to swim. Anyway, the hotels normally keep at least one pool heated and open during the winter.

2. Did you book your reservation online? If you did, they let you select what room type that you want. You can either get their standard, standard strip view, Widescreen room (Nice!), widescreen strip view room, or spa room. If you can, I would definitely get the widescreen room. A strip view would be nice, but it costs extra and you won't be spending very much time in your room. If you request a certain location or room, they cannot guarantee it. I usually end up with a room that is staring at a wall on one of the lower levels. If you ask for a strip view, it will be considered an upgrade, and unless you get a clerk that is willing to give you a free upgrade, they will tell you that it will be however much per night. But it never hurts to try and contact them, especially closer to your stay to get a better room.

3. I love their casino. Their slots aren't loose, per say, but they aren't extremely tight either. You can sit down and play nickel video poker with $5 (at max bet of 25 cents), and still play for quite a while. The cocktail waitresses are great about coming around, even when you are playing nickel games. So the free drinks are plentiful. There have been many times that I have been asked if I want a drink, even if I'm not gambling, just standing by a machine. But you have to be there when she gets back, and if you give her a good tip, she'll come back more often. We always see Tournament of Kings while we are there. It is only $60 per person and dinner is included. It has knights and horses and jousting, it's fun. They also have a kids midway downstairs that is full of carnival games. They are all affordable ($1-$2 per game for however many balls) and they are very easy to win fun prizes. If you have to bring back any souvenirs, that is a great place to win them.

4. I love the location of Excalibur. It is connected to Mandalay Bay and Luxor, and across the street from New York and MGM Grand. From MGM Grand you can either walk, take the bus, or take the monorail to anywhere you want to go. At least once during our trip, we like to walk from Excalibur all the way down to Treasure Island, visiting each hotel as we go, and back so that we can visit the whole strip. If there is anything specific we are doing at a specific hotel and we are short on time, then we take the bus. Here is a map so you can see the relativity of the hotels, Excalibur is 42... http://www.vegas.com/map_popup_strip.html

5. There are timeshare people all over Vegas including at the base of the towers at Excalibur (where you come out of your room), near the front of Excalibur, right when you get outside to the walkway to New York, right when you enter New York- New York, and right when you leave New York-New York. They are also located periodically down the strip. So if you don't feel like going to a timeshare presentation for free show tickets, don't let them pull you in. They usually start with "How long are you visiting?" Just tell them you leave tomorrrow!

Excalibur is my favorite hotel because the value for what you get is awesome. Don't expect anything ritzy, just something fun. Also expect to get lost in the casino for the first couple of days, just look for signs. The casino is very big, and it all looks exactly the same. I still lose my direction every now and then, and I have stayed there 4 times.

I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

First, join the Players Club which includes ALL MGM MIrage properties and use it whether on tables or slots They will explain about comps

The pool could be open, depending on the weather but don't count on it

Excalibur it connected by free tram to the Luxor/pyramid and then Mandalay Bay, or by an indoor walkway. But using a street bridge you can walk easily to NYNY which is next door to Monte Carlo. Another street bridge and you have Tropicana, and a third to MGM Grand.

Enjoy the dinner show Tournament of Kings at Excalibur. When you check in make sure you ask for any special discounts/tickets, etc.

You get free drinks when you gamble at tables, bars and slots. Tip/toke the cocktail or bartended $1 per round (they get minimum wage).

Ride scream rollercoaster at NYNY. See the free lion habitat at MGM Grand. Enjoy the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.

Check www.lasvegasnow.com before you come for all kinds of things to do and deals!!!

get one of the upgraded strip view rooms. I love the little bar by tower 2 and the video poker machines there Dick's Last Resort can be fun. Go to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay (you can walk inside all the way, but its a long walk) dont know about the pool, I dont ever use it. the free drinks are good, sit at a bar and play video poker to get the most free drinks. Krispy Kreme in the morning! NYNY is fun, especially the roller coaster. MGM is just alot to take in, go in the m&m store next door and go all the way to the factory on top (make believe) utilize the monorail as a way to get around, its worth it to get an all day pass.

The pool will be open, you can request a preference but they won't guarantee that it will be honored, play table games, they now have poker table tht is all digital so it is a great place to learn holdem and get free drinks, see a cirque show, just have fun!
