when i was a kid, my parents took my grandparents (dad's side) for a road trip around the west/southwest. being in new england, we flew out and rented a car. we met them in vegas, where my grandparents had arrived a few days earlier to stay at the flamingo. I was like, 5. we stayed at the Imperial Palace, which is no longer there, and my parents complained the entire time that it was "gross", and that they wished we were staying at The Mirage, where my dad went every year for the consumer electronics show for work. I was confused, as the room was nice and clean and all, and when I asked them what was "gross" they wouldn't tell me. it's only now occuring to me that they might not have meant literal cleanliness.

sprry for the long question, Thanks!

Imperial Palace was run down and Sort of shabby. It wasn't nearly as nice as many of different resorts, even some of those other older hotels. The only things it had going for it were the price and the place. It was not really kid-friendly, but I don't really look at any of the Vegas resorts to be kid-friendly, except for possibly The Orleans. Others that appeal to families a little more still aren't that kid-friendly. The IP was run down, and no, they really weren't kid friendly. My family moved to Vegas every summer and stayed at the Flamingo or Circus Circus. My dad was a part of a players club and also we got a coupon book every time we moved there. . The coupon book had reductions and free stuff. I was a young teenager (13 or 14) if they opened the auto museum and one of those coupons in the book was for 1/2 price admission. I went there every year to check out the cars, my favourite one was the car Bonnie and Clyde was driving when they were ambushed from the cops . .it was filled with bullet holes. Anyhoo whenever I was there by myself the security guards could watch/ follow me. 1 year, I was stopped by a guard for being at the casino. You had to pass through the casino to get into the museum. I told him I was moving to the auto museum, he then asked if I had been staying in the hotel and I said no I had been staying in the Flamingo. . He told me I had to leave and return having a parent and then escorted me out of the hotel.

The Imperial Palace is still there, it just has a new name and has been updated

Yes, it was gross and shabby. That's why rooms were dirt cheap.

It was not kid friendly, but few Vegas hotels are or ever were.

He stopped me as i was walking past a bank of slot machines and ask me what i was doing. I told him i was going to the auto museum, he then asked if I was staying at the hotel and I said no that i was staying at the Flamingo.. He told me I had to leave and come back with a parent and then escorted me out of the hotel. My dad was livid to say the least
