Las Vegas (Spanish for The Meadows) is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Nevada, the seat of Clark County, and an internationally renowned major resort city for gambling, shopping, fine dining, and entertainment. Las Vegas, which bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World.Established in 1905, Las Vegas officially became a city in 1911. With the growth that followed, at the close of the century Las Vegas was the most populous American city founded in the 20th century (a distinction held by Chicago in the 19th century). The city's tolerance for various forms of adult entertainment earned it the title of Sin City, and this image has made Las Vegas a popular setting for films and television programs. Outdoor lighting displays are everywhere on the Las Vegas Strip and are seen elsewhere in the city as well. As seen from space, the Las Vegas metropolitan area is the brightest on Earth.

Las Vegas is situated on the arid desert floor within Clark County. Correspondingly, the surrounding environment is dominated by desert vegetation and some wildlife, and the area can be subject to torrential flash floods. Las Vegas' climate is an arid desert climate (Koppen climate classification BWh), typical of the Mojave Desert in which it lies. The city enjoys abundant sunshine year-round and has about an average of 300 sunshine days a year, with very little rainfall. The summer months of June through September are very hot and mostly dry with average daytime highs of 94–104 °F and nighttime lows of 69–78 °F ; and most days in July and August exceed 100°Fs (38°Cs) but with very low humidity, frequently under 10%.

Las Vegas' winters are of short duration and the season is generally mild, with daytime highs near 60 degrees and nighttime lows around 40 degrees. The mountains surrounding Las Vegas accumulate snow during the winter but snow is rare in the Las Vegas Valley itself.[12] Several years apart, however, snow has fallen in the valley. Temperatures can sometimes drop to freezing (32 °F/0 °C) but winter nighttime temperatures will rarely dip below 30 degrees.

Annual precipitation in Las Vegas is around 4.5 inches (114 mm), which mainly occurs during winter but is not uncommon anytime of the year.

Las Vegas is just mainly known for it's casinos, but I must tell you that casinos are not all of Vegas. Obviously there are no real "beaches" as Nevada is a landlocked state. There should be some water parks (at least there are water rides in the Adventuredome in Circus Circus). The Adventuredome is a great theme park, especially of you have young kids. A good restaurant that I would recommend is the buffet down there at Rio, as I had a good experience there back in 2010. I don't know too much about "Planet Holleywood", however I would stay at the Mandalay Bay.

Las Vegas is a major city in the State of Nevada USA. It is in the Mohave Desert. The only beach is at the manmade lake called Lake Mead where Hoover Dam is located, but that is not in Las Vegas but about 90 minutes drive.

The only theme park is indoors at Circus Circus called Adventure Dome. There are no outside them parks because this is the desert and very hot (110 plus) in the summer. There are no water parks.

There are hordes of great restaurants in every hotel and buffets and cafes.

Planet Hollywood is a nice, small place. There is nothing wrong staying there. And you can enjoy the other 33 casinos.

There are no beaches here in Vegas. We are in the middle of the desert. No real waterparks but the pool area at Mandalay Bay is fantastic. You might consider staying there so you can use the pool area. No theme parks within six hours drive.

Lots and lots of good restaurants everywhere through out Las Vegas.Planet Hollywood is a great place to stay as is most of the hotels on the strip but if you want the excitement of a great water area then look into Mandalay Bay.

For things to see and do here is a website with great information.

I dont know what planet hollywood is like. I stayed at the bellagio which was very very nice! Las Vegas is in Nevada so there are no beaches but there are a lot of pools and they do have a couple small water parks! there are a lot of roller coasters and rides all around las vegas. New york new york has a pretty cool one that starts from inside this hugh game room inside the hotel! There are a lot of great resturants and lots of entertainment! just do a lot of research before you go cause vegas isn't for everyone!

Kindergarten is the first year of compulsory schooling, and children typically start at age 5 (they have to be 5 before September, so a child born in September who just misses the cutoff has to wait till they're turning 6 to start). However, there is also preschool, which is just optional for younger children and not part of the school system. They usually have different options for 3 year olds and 4 year olds (they often go by the public school system and ask that a child be 3/4 years old before September). The 3-year-old class will of course be more basic while the 4-year old class might start preparing them more for kindergarten (which is why it's often called Pre-Kindergarten). He will just have to check out different preschool programs where he lives and see what his options are.

It gets old fast. Take the time you plan to stay in Vegas. Divide by two. Stay about half as long as you'd planned. With the other half of the time, visit nearby Zion National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and/pr Bryce Canyon.
